Cause of gout

The level of uric acid in the body depends on two factors

The rate of formation of uric acid.The rate of excretion of uric acid by the kidneys.

An increase in training or a reduction in uric acid excretion will result in the accumulation of uric acid in blood. When blood levels of uric acid through normal values then this condition is called hyperuricemia. This is the stage of precursor of gout

The normal value of uric acid in the blood of adults is approximately 360 to 415 micro MOL/litre or 6.8 milligrams/deciliter 6. At this level, the blood is saturated with uric acid. When the concentration of uric acid passes through this level then the blood becomes supersaturated solution. Now, formation and precipitation of uric acid crystals can occur at any time.

Precipitation of crystals causes irritation of the synovial membrane of the joint and causes inflammation, pain and swelling.

Factors led to an increase in the formation of uric acid in the body include the following and these represent 10% of the cases of hyperuricemia as a cause of gout
